Storms that swept through the region Sunday night and early today didn’t spawn any tornadoes, but did perplex a lot of people in the area.
That’s because along with delivering some heavy rain, the storms caused West Texas dust to fall on the region.
A combination of dust pushed by high winds and eastward-moving storms caused the unusual muddy rain event, according to the National Weather Service.
The dust kicked up in Texas was so thick that satellite images showed it over the Texas Panhandle on its way eastward.
