Houston will be represented beginning Sunday at the 47th Missouri Community Betterment annual conference in Jefferson City.
Community volunteers will be recognized for their efforts to promote economic development and the quality of life for residents. Houston and Cabool are among communities participating.
Houston and Cabool were finalists in the competition. Judges recently toured the community as part of the competition. Winners will be announced Monday.
Towns that are participating in the award competition this year in category III are Albany, Bourbon, Cabool, Houston, Paris, Steelville, Wellsville and Willow Springs.
