The Big Piney Watershed Committee, a volunteer based group, is inviting the community to the next meeting Aug. 17.
The main objectives of this group are to create awareness, sustain the present water quality and prevent future degradation to the river and watershed area, an organizer said. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Discussions will include recent projects, future plants for the committee and roles local citizens can take.
The meeting is 6:30 pm in the conference room of the USDA building at 6726 S. U.S. 63 in Houston.
