Two more Texas County men have declared their candidacy for election on the Republican Ticket in the August Primary.

Fred Stenger of Houston will seek the party’s nomination for presiding commissioner. Mike Anderson, county prosecutor, filed for re-election.

The deadline for filing is March 30.

Here are those filing:

Associate circuit judge: Doug Gaston and Brad Eidson, Republicans, Houston.

Circuit Judge Mary Sheffield, a Rolla Democrat, also will seek re-election.

Presiding commissioner: Andy Sodano, Republican, Houston; and David M. “Mike” Impey, Democrat, Houston. Incumbent Don Shelhammer, a Republican, will not seek re-election.

Circuit clerk: Rita A. Williams, Democrat, Houston; and Marci Mosley, Republican, Houston.

County clerk: Don Troutman.

Recorder of deeds: incumbent Phyllis Staley, Democrat, Houston; and Susan Warkentin, Republican, Houston.

Reps. Don Wells and Tony Dugger, who represent Texas County in the Missouri House, are seeking re-election. Both are Republicans.

In the 8th Congressional District race, filing are Tommy Sowers of Rolla, a Democrat; and incumbent Jo Ann Emerson, a Cape Girardeau Republican, and Bob Parker, a Raymondville Republican.

Filings also are under way for township committeemen and committeewomen from each of the county’s organized political parties.
