Sales tax revenues were flat in the latest monthly sales tax distribution to the City of Houston, the Missouri Department of Revenue said.
Revenue collected from a one-cent sales tax totaled $60,908, which was down $343 from the same period a year ago. For the first 11 months of the year, the tally is $593,554, an increase of about $7,100 or 1.2 percent from a year ago.
Merchants also collect three other sales tax: Two quarter-cent sales taxes for roads and sidewalks, as well as another for utility work. Each contributed about $14,800. The total for the year on each is about $143,000.
An eighth-cent sales tax for debt repayment on a fire truck contributed $7,384.
