Two persons were injured Saturday on U.S. 60 when a Missouri State Highway Patrol car was struck in the rear by a Mountain Grove motorist.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Tpr. Dale B. Pounds, 44, of Houston, was traveling eastbound and attempting to make a left turn when his patrol car was struck in the rear by a 2008 Toyota Tundra operated by Ronald G. Stillwell, 64, of Mountain Grove.
Pounds, who was wearing a seat belt, was treated at the scene. Stillwell, who was not wearing a seat belt, was to seek his own treatment, the patrol said.
Damage was extensive to the patrol car. An estimate was $10,000. Four officers who were called to the scene two miles east of Mountain Grove said they couldn’t open the truck to see if there was damage to the patrol’s radio system.
