A Houston man is charged in an incident that police said resulted in soda being thrown at a local store clerk.

Officers cited Keith A. Masters, 23, of 777 W. Highway 17, Apt. 12, with peace disturbance on Sept. 22. Police said Masters grabbed a 44-ounce of soda and threw it toward a clerk at Bullseye on South South Houston Blvd. An intoxicated Masters, police said, became irritated when he was denied the purchase of liquor.

In other matters, members:

-Were called to Missouri Loan Center on Sept. 22 after a South Sam Houston Blvd. burglary. Police said a north glass windowpane was broken. A small amount of change was taken, along with a digital scale used in weighing precious metals.

Later in the day, an employee at a nearby business, Rod’s Service Center, discovered someone had forcibly entered a vehicle and stolen tools used to break into the business. The truck was owned by Wendell Calhoun of Houston. Also missing were a radio-CD player worth $160 and a $30 logging chain.

-Heard from Louis Morgan, 56, of 112 W. Spruce St., Apt. 7, who reported that someone had taken prescription medication from his apartment.

-Investigated a burglary at the U.S. Department of Agriculture building on South U.S. 63. Entry was made by removing a screen off a window and forcing it open on the north side of the building. Missing are an MP3 player and a small amount of currency from a break room.

-Are investigating claims by a man who said he was robbed at knifepoint at 510 Chestnut. Robert F. Singh, 24, told officers that someone brandished a “hunting knife or pocket knife” and took his wallet on Aug. 22.
