A luncheon at the Country Club of Missouri in Columbia on Aug. 29 was the gathering point for hundreds of people at the awards ceremony conducted by the Missouri Federation of Republican Women (MoFRW). Lois England of Houston was a recipient.
England has quite a history, having started politically as township committeewoman. In 1991, she was one of the charter members of the Texas Count chapter of the MoFRW. She worked as deputy assessor for 12 years and was involved in the equalization program in which every land parcel in Texas County was located and documented on the county tax records. She was then elected to the position of public administrator. She has been politically active for more than 40 years.
England is active in her church and on several boards of organizations within the community.
