Texas County’s unemployment rate held steady in August, reports the Missouri Department of Economic Development.
The rate was 8.9 percent, which is an increase of one-tenth of a percentage point from the previous month.
The average in the region is 9.1 percent.
Area counties and their jobless rates: Douglas, 9.4; Howell, 9.4; Shannon, 10.5; and Wright, 9.9. Reynolds County had the highest unemployment figure in the region at 13.7 percent.
