A request for a reduction in bond was denied Wednesday for an Ellis Prairie man accused of child molestation.
Kenny Wheeler, 67, appeared with his attorney, Brad D. Eidson, in Texas County Associate Court before Judge Doug Gaston. Wheeler, who is charged with two counts each of child molestation and sodomy, is held on $1.25 million bond.
Wheeler also waived formal arraignment, and a preliminary hearing was set for 1 p.m. Oct. 7.
