A Friday night accident sent a Licking man to a Springfield hospital in serious condition. A passenger was taken to the Texas County Jail, the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Matthew J. Britt, 18, was driving a 1991 Chevrolet Cavalier on Pursifull Road east of Licking that ran off the roadway, struck a tree and overturned, partially ejecting the driver. He was airlifted to St. John’s Hospital, said Sgt. Jeff Kinder.
A passenger, Anthony Lee, 22, was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital.
Kinder said Lee was arrested on two warrants charging him with possession of a marijuana and having no driver’s license. Lee also was charged with discharging a firearm from a moving vehicle and possession of a firearm while intoxicated, Kinder said.
Britt was not wearing a seat belt, Kinder said.
