A financial services company announced plans to locate an office on Houston’s South Sam Houston Blvd.

Edward Jones will operate beginning the week of July 13 in an office complex north of Landmark Bank that once housed the offices of AG Edwards that was later acquired by Wachovia. Shortly after Wachovia announced its purchase by Wells Fargo Bank, the location closed and clients were transferred to a Rolla office.

Houston native Susan Elmore Steckler is the broker for the new office. She was previously associated with the location, working for AG Edwards and its successors. Steckler, who has about 30 years of brokerage experience, and her husband, Dick, live in Houston.

Founded in 1922, Edward Jones is based in St. Louis. It has about 9,900 offices in the United States and more than 10,800 globally. In its June 2009 edition, SmartMoney magazine named the firm the No. 2 full-service brokerage company in the country. In January, it was named one of the “100 Best Companies to Work For” by Fortune magazine.
