A Licking teenager faces several charges following his arrest Friday morning following an accident west of his hometown, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Dalton R. Backues, 18, was driving a 1993 Chevrolet truck that ran off Ware Road and struck a ditch, said Tpr. Logan Elliott. A passenger, Dawn D. Lord, 29, had minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Texas County Memorial Hospital.
Backues refused treatment and was taken to the Texas County Jail. He was arrested on charges of second-degree assault – DWI involving an injury accident, leaving the scene of an injury accident, careless and imprudent driving and minor in possession of alcohol by consumption, according to a report.
