A Houston man faces charges connected to the assault of a local woman, police said.
Officers arrested Dallas M. Doyle, 30, 777 W. Highway 17, Apt. 20, on a third-degree domestic assault charge May 24 following the attack of a 25-year-old Houston woman.
The victim told police Doyle pushed her down on a bed and put a pillow over her face. She said he continued to punch her while holding the pillow over her face. At one time, the woman told police he pulled her down a hallway into the kitchen and took a hammer and displayed it like he was going to strike her. Police said Doyle later left the residence.
In other matters, police:
-Arrested Timothy M. Gash, 47, of Osage Beach, on a warrant charging him with misdemeanor domestic assault, third degree. Bond was set at $1,000 cash or $2,500 surety. He was able to post bond May 23 at the Texas County Jail.
-Were called to the Texas County Library after a driver, Opal E. Huff, 91, of 737 Bryan, suffered an apparent medical condition and continued over a sidewalk and struck the east side of the building on May 18.
