Intercounty Electric said Friday afternoon that about 200 of its customers remain without power.
The cooperative had expected everyone to have power by Saturday, but now says it will be early next week.
“We anticipated everyone back on by Saturday, weather permitting and no new damage. However as we have progressed into the denser areas, the destruction is like nothing we have ever seen,” said Leisa Stilley of Intercounty Electric. “It’s taking right-of-way men to cut ahead of the bulldozers to make a path for the trucks to rebuild a lot of line.”
Intercounty said it still has 132 poles to repair following a storm that swept through the area last Friday. It is still finding areas with poles down.
