Penmac Personnel Services Inc. announced the launch of Pentec, a new division specializing in information technology staffing. After 20 years of successful industrial, clerical and transportation staffing, Penmac is expanding to serve one of the fastest-growing sectors of the job market.

Pentec will provide both temporary and long-term staffing for technical positions such as programmers, CAD drafters, web developers and telecommunications technicians. “We can recruit, screen and interview candidates that will exactly fit a company’s needs,” explained Amanda Moravec, branch manager in Houston and Deanna McNew area manager. “We can draw from our existing pool of talent, as well as recruit the best and brightest. With our testing, background checks and one-on-one interviewing, a company can be sure we will send them the most qualified person for the position.”

Tony Iaguessa will serve as director of IT placement. He is a veteran of the information technology industry, having recently sold TopShelfSystems Inc. which produced point of sale systems for hardware and other retail stores.

“This expansion sends Penmac into an area that is certainly growing. Pentec will be able to meet the need for IT staffing, which is growing at a rate of 25 percent so far this year according to INSIGHT Publication,” he said.

While the overall employment market continued to deteriorate, IT employment reached an all-time high in June, according to the National Association of Computer Consultant Businesses, which tracks monthly IT employment.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity we have to offer new services to our clients. Tony’s expertise in IT allows us to bring our decades of HR experience to a whole new area of staffing, ” said Penmac founder and CEO Patti Penny.
