A 4-year-old boy was transported to a Springfield hospital late Sunday night after he was struck by a car in southeast Texas County, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Chandler Lelik walked behind a car driven by Tonya M. Slater, 36, of Mountain View, as it was backing out of a driveway.
Troopers said the mishap occurred on Howell Road situated about eight miles north of Mountain View.
Chandler is from Mountain View.
