The annual Miss Texas County Scholarship Pageant is Saturday inside the community building at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce Fairgrounds.

The afternoon show, which begins at 1 p.m. under the direction of Cindy Sillyman, will feature 26 girls ranging from ages 3 to 12 years old competing for the titles of Tiny, Little, Petite and PreTeen Miss Texas County.

Winners will be eligible to compete at the Misses of Missouri State competition finals July in Mexico, Mo. They will receive a savings bonds, crown, trophy and sash. The non-finalist will be given a tiara and trophy provided by JAZ Trophies Awards & Gifts.

The evening show, which begins at 6 p.m., is under the direction of Cynthia Spratt, Miss Texas County 2003. Four contestants will compete for the title of Miss Texas County, and five girls will battle for Miss Texas County’s Outstanding Teen title.

The Miss Texas County and Outstanding Teen winners will also compete in June for the state of Missouri titles in Mexico.

The mission of the Miss Texas County Scholarship Pageant is to build self-esteem in every contestant.
