A new judge has been assigned to the case of a woman murdered 26 years ago, according to court documents.
Randy P. Schuller, a Wayne County associate circuit judge, was appointed last week in the capital murder case of Donald “Doc” Nash, 65, of Beaufort, who is accused of murdering Judy Spencer, 21. William Camm Seay, presiding judge of the 42nd Judicial Circuit Court, made the appointment. Nash remains in the Dent County Jail, where he is held on $750,000 cash bond.
A preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. April 28.
