A 30,000 square foot building in the Houston Industrial Park will soon be home to new manufacturing plant. The Houston Industrial Development Authority approved a bid that will complete the building off West Highway 17.
Ron Reed, the city’s economic development director, said Tuesday that Gentry Construction Co. of Houston will complete a concrete floor, construct offices and handle electrical and plumbing issues at the industry speculative building within 70 days. News of the development came Monday during a meeting of the Houston City Council. Reed said an announcement about the company is expected soon.
Houston’s Industrial Development Authority tapped funds from the state’s speculative loan building program to construct the metal structure that sits west of Houston House. Three other firms also have operations at the industrial park, including two Durham Co. plants, Houston Sportswear and Opportunity Sheltered Industries.
