The Houston board of education handled several personnel matters during a meeting last week.

Superintendent Clinton Waters reported this week these actions by the board:

-Approved Sara Michael, Jimmie Walser, Ashley Kell and Lisa Armstrong as substitute teachers and Tina Moore as cafeteria substitute.

-Accepted the resignations of Joseph Murphy, high school speech and debate; Rebecca Eidson, who is retiring from the Exceptional Child Cooperative; Roger Holder, special education director; Nathaniel Barbe, high school science teacher; and Kathy Friebe, elementary teacher.

-Employed probationary staff from the various schools. One middle school instructor was not re-employed.

-Reassigned Lisa Jordan from high school special education to the Exceptional Child Cooperative, Kerri Keller from the elementary to the Exceptional Child Cooperative and Pat Oakley from middle school to high school special education.
