The Tyrone Fire Department hosted a “Firefighter Basic Skills” class at the Tyrone Community Center.
The class, which consisted of 36 hours of classroom instruction and practical skill training, was attended by 23 students from four area fire departments.
West Plains Fire Chief Tim Bean taught the class. Tyrone Fire Chief Adam Webb and instructor Jerry Logsdon assisted.
President Rueben Roedeske said a portion of the cost of the class was paid out of a four-year Homeland Security Department grant that Tyrone Fire Department received in 2005.
