Ozark Action Inc., is again offering free assistance with figuring income taxes.
The agency is targeting people eligible to claim the Earned Income Tax Credit, or EITC. For those eligible to claim the EITC on their tax returns it can pay the taxpayer as much as $4,716 this year in addition to any refunds.
The returns are filed electronically with the IRS so refunds and credit payments should be prompt.
To get assistance with the preparation of your taxes and find out if you are eligible to claim the EITC on your tax return, contact the local Ozark Action office. Preparation of tax returns will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
