The Missouri State Highway Patrol made 19 arrests and issued 62 warnings at a sobriety checkpoint Saturday night in Texas County.
The patrol said the checkpoint was from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 137 and Highway B. Among the citations were two misdemeanor driving while intoxicated arrests, two misdemeanor drug arrests and four speed arrests. Officers also made arrests for: four non-moving, three driver’s license and four seat belt violations.
The patrol said it also conducted a Hazardous Moving Violations S.T.E.P. Program during a four-hour period beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday. Troopers made 76 arrests and issued 59 warnings from the county.
Totals from the program included: 44 speed arrests, one careless and imprudent driving arrest and two other hazardous moving violations. Officers also made nine non-moving arrests: two driver’s license, 13 seat belt and five uninsured motorist violations.
