The Houston Garden Club announced winners in its lawn and business contests. Taking top honors were Kirk and Roxie Sponsler, 7820 Westwood, first; Mary Kirkman, 1113 John Street, second; and Jay and Kerry York, 714 Ozark, third. Winning the business award was Houston Herald, 109-117 Grand Ave.
