Intercounty announced on social media Wednesday that it was informed of a scam targeting its members.
According to the organization, a caller informed an Intercounty member that their payment was late due to their most recent credit card payment not going through. The caller then asked for a new card number to complete the payment.
“This is a scam,” Intercounty said. “Please do not give out this information to a caller claiming such a scenario. We will not call you and ask for credit card information. If you are ever in doubt, hang up and call us at 866-621-3679.
“Again, please share this with your loved ones. We don’t want any of our members to become victims of this scam during the holiday season or anytime of the year.”
