The following are excerpts from reports generated by the Houston Police Department:
•Brian Lancaster, 41, of 706 Ozark St. in Houston, was issued a citation for driving while intoxicated after a traffic stop on Ozark Street at about 1:10 a.m. March 19.
An officer made the stop after observing a maroon Lincoln Town Car traveling erratically on Hamrick Street and Ozark Street. After making contact with the driver, the officer smelled alcohol and field sobriety tests were conducted. Lancaster was taken to the Texas County Jail for a 12-hour hold period.
•On March 16, an officer investigated a report of a bad check taken at Orscheln Farm and Home.
The check was reported taken on Feb. 21 and was for $420.68. The officer was advised that a similar case involving the same victims (residents of Edgar Springs) was being investigated in Licking. A 35-year-old woman and 22-year-old man were eventually identified as suspects (hometowns not reported), and probable cause statements were sent to the county prosecutor seeking forgery charges against them.
•Calvin L. Massey, 48, of 5497 U.S. 63 at Solo, was arrested Match 26 for having an active Texas County warrant for driving while intoxicated.
An officer who was aware of the warrant made the arrest in the Texas County Justice Center parking lot after observing Massey there. He was taken to jail, where he posted $250 bond and was released.
•Jimmie D. Scantlin, 35, of 121 Mill St. in Raymondville, was arrested March 19 for having an active Texas County felony warrant for non-support.
An officer made the arrest after conducting a traffic stop and finding that Scantlin was a passenger in the car. He was taken to the Texas County Jail where he was unable to post $50,000 bond.
•A 23-year-old Cabool woman called March 13 to report that she had a counterfeit $50 bill in her possession. The woman told an investigating officer she had received the bill in change from Walmart and then tried to use it to pay for a meal at McDonald’s, but it had failed a counterfeit pen test.
The officer inspected the bill – a 2006 series – and confirmed it was fake. There are no suspects.
