HMS FOOTBALL TEAMS SWEEP CABOOL

The Houston eighthgrade football team rallied past Cabool in the final seconds last Thursday for its first victory of the season.

Korbyn Tune connected with Ebin Smith for a 15yard touchdown with 10 seconds remaining to tie the game. Tune ran in the two-point conversion to give the Tigers an 8-6 win.

Defensively, Nick Washko had an interception for Houston.

SEVENTH GRADE: Anthony Carroll had four rushing touchdowns in the Tigers’ 36-6 victory.

Carroll had scoring runs of 9, 57, 5 and 55 yards. Dakota James had a 25-yard touchdown run.

James and Danny Venable had two-point conversion runs. Austin Goetz caught a conversion pass from Venable.

HMS VOLLEYBALL TEAMS LOSE TO MOUNTAIN GROVE

Aliyah Walker had four aces and Jordyn Lay had a team-best 10 digs in the Houston eighth-grade volleyball team’s 27-25, 25-10 loss last Tuesday to Ava.

The seventh grade was defeated 25-12, 25-8.
