Beverly Ann Driesel, 84, born to Elwyn Ledell (E.L.) and Peggy Maxine Daugherty in Crocker, Missouri, passed from this life to the waiting arms of her savior Aug. 13, 2024 at Eaglecrest Nursing and Rehab, Ash Flat, Arkansas.
Beverly had a life that can hardly be contained in a simple obituary. Upon moving to Raymondville at a young age, she found great comfort in her horse Trixie and riding the trails and back roads of her Texas County home. She had a childhood that was a simple Norman Rockwell painting brought to life.
She attended Raymondville school and Houston High School, where she was a cheerleader and the drum major for the marching band. She was also Pineymo Queen and a member of the volleyball team. She was very loved by her classmates and teachers. Beverly never knew a stranger. A strong love of music made Beverly a favorite of every church she attended, where she regularly was the church pianist.
She married Billy Joe Driesel May 31, 1957, and to this union three children were born, Glenna Jo, Doug and Robert. She enjoyed being a mother more than anything on earth. Her kids were her prize and the light in her eyes.
Beverly loved her family, and she had a strong love for Texas. She attended kindergarten in New Braunfels, and never wanted to leave. That’s where the love affair began. She lived there again in the late 70s and early 80s and once again in the 90s and never lost a love for the Lone Star State. She had many friends, but the bonds she made in Livingston, Texas were strong and enduring.
She was preceded in death by her parents, E.L. and Peggy, her sister Judith Inez, one nephew David Michael Klotz. She is survived by her children, Glenna Adovasio (Tom) and Douglas (Amy), both of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and Robert William of the home. One niece Lori (Stanley) Floyd of Houston, Missouri. She also loved and cherished her grandchildren Joseph Adovasio of Houston, Texas, Doug Driesel, Jr. (Rachel) of Chicago, Illinois, Ian Driesel (Alissa) of Houston, Missouri, Christopher Driesel of Licking, Jessica (Lolo) Driesel of Providence Village, Texas, and Jacob Driesel of Raymondville. She also loved her great-grandchildren Chandler, Adrian and Makenna. They brightened her smile to the end.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 18 at Raymondville Community Church with Greg Berglund officiating. Burial will be at Vollmar Cemetery in Raymondville.
