A business workshop is planned July 23 in Houston, Mo.

A day-long workshop on government resources available to help grow businesses in rural Missouri is set for July 23 in Houston.

“Building Better Businesses: Available Government Resources” runs 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Piney River Technical Center in downtown Houston. Lunch will be provided to those who pre-register with the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce at 417-967-2220.

The schedule:

9-10 a.m. — Registration and networking

10 a.m. – noon — Panel discussion from Small Business Administration, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Small Business Development Center, South Central Ozarks Council of Governments, Justine Petersen and Procurement Technical Assistance Center.

Noon – 1 p.m. — Lunch

1 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. — Update from Houston economic director Rob Harrington and Houston Area Chamber of Commerce director Angie Quinlan.

1:45 – 4 p.m. — Free class for business owners on Facebook marketing.

There is no charge.
