The Texas County University Extension will host a “Beginning Gardener Class” 9 a.m. – noon Saturday, June 27, at the Loretto House, 1418 S. Sam Houston Blvd., Houston. Presenters are members of the Texas County Gardeners Club.
The class will include information on: beginning the garden, companion planting and valuable gardening secrets. Beginner to novice gardeners will benefit from the instruction.
Pre-registration is required. Contact the University of Missouri Extension office at 417-967-4545 to register. Cost is a suggested donation of $10 per person.
Community garden sites are still available; there is no cost to adopt a site.
To sponsor a garden to benefit the food pantry, there is a suggested donation of $40. About 20 sites are available.
