A pair of Intercounty Electric Cooperative employees recently attended Overhead and Aerial Basket School at the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperative Training Center.

Aaron Becklenberg and Adam Patrick, received training Oct. 26-29 in Jefferson City. Instruction included safe work practices for direct hand contact rubber gloving of energized lines, the use of live line tools and proper insulated cover up materials for poles and conductors. Safe positioning of vehicles at the work site and the importance of pre-job conference was stressed.

Instructors from the Association of Missouri Electric Cooperatives, Jefferson City; Hubbell Power Systems, Inc., Centralia; and numerous rural electric cooperatives across Missouri provided the training and instruction to the 61 linemen attending the school.

AMEC is the service organization for the state’s 47 electric cooperatives that serves more than 560,000 rural Missourians.
