The Jacks Fork Watershed Committee is pumping septic tanks in the Jacks Fork Watershed coverage area.
Pumpings have been done at the prongs, near Willow Springs, Mountain View, Highway 17 area, Eminence and Delaware, just to name few.
Homeowners can take advantage of a cost-share opportunity. Persons who have a septic tank and would like more information or a map of the Jacks Fork Watershed Coverage Area can call Teresa Acord at 417-260-2501.
Persons can also call her when experiencing problems with their current septic system. There may be programs and funding to help with these issues, she said.
The program is designed to be a win-win solution for all involved. “We all are doing our part to help keep the water in our area clean and healthy and helping homeowners in this tough economic time by defraying some of the expense in pumping out a septic tank,” she said.
