A member of the Missouri State Highway Patrol who served in Texas County has been promoted.
Tpr. Mark A. Philpott is now a corporal designated the assistant zone supervisor of Zone 1, Wright County. He had served in Texas County since 2013.
Philpott, an Ava native and graduate, was appointed to the patrol in July 2011 and was first assigned to Troop G, Zone 4, Carter and Reynolds counties. He holds an associate degree in criminal justice from Mineral Area College in Park Hills. He and his wife, Alexandra (Noll), have two children.
